In October 2024, the Energy Literacy for Youth (ELY) project officially began its journey in Kraków, Poland, where partners from Cyprus, Germany, Denmark, Czechia, and Poland gathered for the first transnational project meeting. This marked the start of a shared mission to empower young people aged 18–25 to take the lead in addressing climate change and energy inequality.
The meeting set the stage for exciting and impactful work ahead. Together, the consortium began shaping an innovative curriculum that will strengthen energy literacy among youth across Europe. Discussions focused on how to design inclusive educational tools and experiences that truly inspire young people to take action in their communities.
Beyond the planning sessions, the meeting also fostered collaboration and a shared vision for the future. Partners exchanged ideas, aligned goals, and laid the groundwork for a series of interactive trainings and events that will support youth-led solutions for a fairer and greener energy transition.
The Kraków meeting was more than just a launch—it was a powerful first step toward a future where young changemakers are equipped to drive real, lasting change. With their energy and creativity at the forefront, the ELY project is building a movement for climate justice, inclusion, and sustainability.
