On 28 May 2025, we hosted the online conference “Powering Knowledge: Energy Education in Times of Climate Crisis”, bringing together researchers, educators, youth workers, and policy-makers from across Europe to explore how energy education can be a catalyst for climate resilience and social justice.
At a time when the world faces the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution—the so-called triple planetary crisis—education has never been more crucial. Our discussions centered on how informed and inclusive education can empower communities, especially youth, to participate actively in shaping a just energy transition.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, contributed, and engaged in these timely and important conversations. Your questions and reflections brought valuable perspectives to the table.
The event featured powerful insights, including research on energy literacy among marginalized youth and inclusive strategies for participatory climate education. Experts from Poland, Germany, and beyond shared practical approaches and policy perspectives, enriching the dialogue with diverse viewpoints.
Our distinguished speakers included Magdalena Klarenbach (Open Plan Foundation), Hannah Henyenn (MigLAB), Marta Warat (Jagiellonian University), and Tadeusz Rudek (Jagiellonian University)—all of whom brought a wealth of experience and expertise on the intersections of energy, society, and education.
For those who couldn’t attend or wish to revisit the discussion, the full conference recording is now available:
