As part of the Energy Literacy for Youth (ELY) project, young people from across Cyprus, Germany, Czechia, Poland, and Denmark came together to explore how energy and sustainability impact their lives—and how they can help shape a greener future for Europe.
Each event featured the interactive Energy Adventure Room, where participants engaged in hands-on, participatory activities designed to spark curiosity and dialogue. From everyday energy use to understanding complex environmental challenges, young people reflected on how they access and interpret information, and the barriers they face in contributing to the green transition.
Inclusion was a central priority. Across all countries, efforts were made to ensure diverse youth voices were represented. In Cyprus and Poland, learners with disabilities participated in adapted sessions. In Germany and Denmark, youth with migration backgrounds shared their perspectives. In Czechia, the Prague-based event welcomed Ukrainian youth, creating a meaningful space for sharing experiences and ideas.
These valuable insights will directly contribute to the co-creation of a youth-led Energy Literacy curriculum, one that champions fairness, accessibility, and action. By centering real experiences and diverse voices, ELY is laying the foundation for inclusive energy education that empowers youth as changemakers.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible local partners— Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation (Cyprus), Maidan Ukrajinské Centrum Nusle (Czechia), Stadtteilbüro Friedrichshain (Germany), Centrum Dostępności UJ (Poland), and Miljø og Energicenter Høje Taastrup (Denmark)—as well as to every young person who took part.
Your voice matters. And it’s helping shape the future of energy education across Europe. 🌍💡
